(ו) קיימת סדרה ממשית [math]\displaystyle{ c_n }[/math] כך ש [math]\displaystyle{ c_n\ne0 }[/math] לכל [math]\displaystyle{ n\in\mathbb N }[/math] ו־[math]\displaystyle{ c_n\to0 }[/math], אך לא מתקיים [math]\displaystyle{ \frac1{c_n}\to\infty }[/math]. ([math]\displaystyle{ \frac10\ne\infty }[/math])
(ז) אם [math]\displaystyle{ a_n>0 }[/math] לכל [math]\displaystyle{ n\in\mathbb N }[/math] ו־[math]\displaystyle{ a_n\to0 }[/math], אזי [math]\displaystyle{ \frac1{a_n}\to\infty }[/math]. ([math]\displaystyle{ \frac1{0^+}=\infty }[/math])
אם [math]\displaystyle{ a_n\to\infty }[/math] ו־[math]\displaystyle{ b_n\to L }[/math], אזי [math]\displaystyle{ a_nb_n\to\infty }[/math].
(יא) אם [math]\displaystyle{ a_n\to\infty }[/math] ו־[math]\displaystyle{ b_n }[/math] חסומה, אזי [math]\displaystyle{ a_n+b_n\to\infty }[/math].
אם [math]\displaystyle{ a_n\to\infty }[/math], אזי [math]\displaystyle{ a_n^c\to\infty }[/math].
אם [math]\displaystyle{ a_n\to L }[/math] ו־[math]\displaystyle{ b_n\to\infty }[/math], אזי [math]\displaystyle{ a_n^{b_n}\to\infty }[/math].
(יד) יהי [math]\displaystyle{ L\in(-1,1) }[/math]. אם [math]\displaystyle{ a_n\to L }[/math] ו־[math]\displaystyle{ b_n\to\infty }[/math], אזי [math]\displaystyle{ a_n^{b_n}\to0 }[/math].
(א) [math]\displaystyle{ \frac{2+(-1)^n}{\sqrt n} }[/math] (ב) [math]\displaystyle{ n^{\sqrt n} }[/math] (ג) [math]\displaystyle{ n^2+(-1)^nn }[/math] (ד) [math]\displaystyle{ \left(1+\frac1n\right)^2+(-1)^n }[/math]
(א) לכל [math]\displaystyle{ n\in\mathbb N }[/math] מתקיים [math]\displaystyle{ 1\le2+(-1)^n\le3 }[/math], ולכן המונה חסום. לפי סעיף (יב) עם [math]\displaystyle{ c=\frac12 }[/math] מתקיים [math]\displaystyle{ \sqrt n=n^{\frac12}\to\infty }[/math].
(ב) הבסיס [math]\displaystyle{ n }[/math] והמעריך [math]\displaystyle{ \sqrt n }[/math] שואפים שניהם ל־[math]\displaystyle{ \infty }[/math], ולכן לפי סעיף (ה) ([math]\displaystyle{ \infty^\infty=\infty }[/math]) מתקיים [math]\displaystyle{ n^{\sqrt n}\to\infty }[/math].
נוציא גורם משותף: [math]\displaystyle{ n^2+(-1)^nn=n\left(n+(-1)^n\right) }[/math]. הסדרה [math]\displaystyle{ (-1)^n }[/math] חסומה, ולכן לפי סעיף (יא) [math]\displaystyle{ n+(-1)^n\to\infty }[/math]; לפי סעיף (ד) ([math]\displaystyle{ \infty\cdot\infty=\infty }[/math]) המכפלה [math]\displaystyle{ n\left(n+(-1)^n\right) }[/math] שואפת ל־[math]\displaystyle{ \infty }[/math].
לכל [math]\displaystyle{ n\in\mathbb N }[/math] מתקיים [math]\displaystyle{ \sqrt{n^2+1}\ge n }[/math] ו־[math]\displaystyle{ \sqrt{n^2+n+1}\ge n }[/math], ולכן לפי חצי סנדביץ' שתי הסדרות שואפות לאינסוף, וכך גם [math]\displaystyle{ n }[/math].
(א) [math]\displaystyle{ \sqrt{n^2+1}-n }[/math] [math]\displaystyle{ =\frac{(n^2+1)-n^2}{\sqrt{n^2+1}+n} }[/math] [math]\displaystyle{ =\frac1{\sqrt{n^2+1}+n} }[/math].
(ב) [math]\displaystyle{ \sqrt{n^2+n+1}-n=\frac{n+1}{\sqrt{n^2+n+1}+n} }[/math].
[math]\displaystyle{ \frac{n+1}{\sqrt{n^2+n+1}+n} }[/math] [math]\displaystyle{ =\frac{1+\frac1n}{\sqrt{1+\frac1n+\frac1{n^2}}+1} }[/math] [math]\displaystyle{ \to\frac{1+0}{\sqrt1+1}=\frac12 }[/math],

(א) יהי [math]\displaystyle{ L>0 }[/math] מספר ממשי, ותהיינה [math]\displaystyle{ a_n }[/math] ו־[math]\displaystyle{ b_n }[/math] סדרות ממשיות כך ש [math]\displaystyle{ a_n\to\infty }[/math] ו־[math]\displaystyle{ b_n\to L }[/math]. (ב) הוכיחו או הפריכו: אם [math]\displaystyle{ a_n\to\infty }[/math] ו־[math]\displaystyle{ b_n>0 }[/math] לכל [math]\displaystyle{ n\in\mathbb N }[/math], אזי [math]\displaystyle{ a_nb_n\to\infty }[/math].
לפי הגדרת הגבול של [math]\displaystyle{ b_n }[/math] עם [math]\displaystyle{ \varepsilon=\frac L2>0 }[/math], קיים [math]\displaystyle{ K_1\in\mathbb N }[/math] כך שלכל [math]\displaystyle{ n>K_1 }[/math] מתקיים [math]\displaystyle{ |b_n-L|<\frac L2 }[/math], ובפרט [math]\displaystyle{ b_n>\frac L2 }[/math].
כיוון ש [math]\displaystyle{ a_n\to\infty }[/math], עבור המספר החיובי [math]\displaystyle{ \frac{2M}L }[/math] קיים [math]\displaystyle{ K_2\in\mathbb N }[/math] כך שלכל [math]\displaystyle{ n>K_2 }[/math] מתקיים [math]\displaystyle{ a_n>\frac{2M}L }[/math].
נבחר [math]\displaystyle{ K=\max\{K_1,K_2\} }[/math]. מצאנו לכל [math]\displaystyle{ M>0 }[/math] מקום מתאים, ולכן [math]\displaystyle{ a_nb_n\to\infty }[/math].
נגדיר [math]\displaystyle{ a_n=n }[/math] ו־[math]\displaystyle{ b_n=\frac1{n^2} }[/math]. אזי [math]\displaystyle{ a_n\to\infty }[/math] ו־[math]\displaystyle{ b_n>0 }[/math] לכל [math]\displaystyle{ n\in\mathbb N }[/math], אבל [math]\displaystyle{ a_nb_n=\frac1n\le1 }[/math] לכל [math]\displaystyle{ n }[/math]. לכן עבור [math]\displaystyle{ M=1 }[/math] אין אף מקום [math]\displaystyle{ n }[/math] שבו [math]\displaystyle{ a_nb_n>M }[/math], כלומר [math]\displaystyle{ a_nb_n\not\to\infty }[/math] (למעשה [math]\displaystyle{ a_nb_n\to0 }[/math]).
ואם [math]\displaystyle{ L<0 }[/math]: לפי אריתמטיקה של גבולות [math]\displaystyle{ -b_n\to-L>0 }[/math], ולפי (א) [math]\displaystyle{ a_n\cdot(-b_n)\to\infty }[/math], כלומר [math]\displaystyle{ a_nb_n\to-\infty }[/math].

(בוחן 1 מדמ"ח תשע"ב, שאלה 2) תהיינה [math]\displaystyle{ a_n }[/math] ו־[math]\displaystyle{ b_n }[/math] סדרות ממשיות כך ש [math]\displaystyle{ a_n\to\infty }[/math] והסדרה [math]\displaystyle{ a_n+b_n }[/math] חסומה.
זיהוי הצורה.[math]\displaystyle{ -b_n=a_n+(-c_n) }[/math], כאשר [math]\displaystyle{ a_n\to\infty }[/math] ו־[math]\displaystyle{ -c_n }[/math] חסומה, ולכן לפי סעיף (יא) [math]\displaystyle{ -b_n\to\infty }[/math], כלומר [math]\displaystyle{ b_n\to-\infty }[/math].
חסומה חלקי אינסוף.[math]\displaystyle{ c_n }[/math] חסומה ו־[math]\displaystyle{ -b_n\to\infty }[/math], ולכן לפי סעיף (ב) [math]\displaystyle{ \frac{c_n}{-b_n}\to0 }[/math].
